Essential Salts are the chemical elements needed for life, in addition to CHON.

CHON is 96%, the remaining 4%, in order, by mass within the human body:

- Calcium, Phospherous, Potassium, Sulphur, Sodium, Chlorine, are all at least 0.1%
- Magnesium, Iron, Fluorine, Zinc, Silicon, are all at least 0.001%
- Bromine(?), Copper, Iodine, Boron, Selinium, Nickel, are trace (0.00003% or less)
- Chromium(?), Manganese, Molybdenum, Arsenic(?), Lithium(?), Cobalt, Vanadium(?), are trace and some uncertain

There is considerable uncertainty about Aluminium and Strontium, and maybe Lead and Rubidium.
