James Stevenson was one of the first Asteroid racers after Benjamin Rhodes and his associates invented the sport. Though never very successfull he enjoyed the sport and made something of a name for himself there, though he keeps the exact details of why he's known as Auger to himself.
He attended the emergency convention now known as SOS-con, voting for Operation Great Justice and signing up almost immediately. He had hoped to become a fighter pilot but got roped "temporarily" into OGJ's expanding Marine Corps as a transport pilot. His skill eventually got him transferred to pilot a boarding craft, which he did until the end of the war.
After the war he returned to his previous life, though he tends to get suckered into Grey's plans whenever she needs a really good pilot. He complains, but always seems to end up helping her anyway.
Appearance
Average height, dark hair pulled back into a loose ponytail. Often wears outfits reminicent of WWII flying gear.
Notable Mundane Attributes
- Never tell me the odds: Hot shot asteroid racer, or so he considers himself. A good pilot, but has done very well on the racing circuit.

- Got a light?: Habitually has an unlit cigarette in his mouth. He's never been seen to actually smoke one though.
- You can't prove anything that could have been anyone: Doesn't talk about how he earned the nickname Auger. When pressed he claims it's funnier for people to speculate.
