Known Vehicle Quirks

  • Violence Only Begets Violence: No matter what happens, the Qin will not use maximum force as an initial opening combat gambit.
  • This Little One’s Not Worth The Effort: With the first quirk in mind, the fact the ship will urge diplomatic solutions should be clear, and a ship approaching in communications with the Qin will never be allowed to be attacked first.
  • Hong Kong Action Theatre: Qin like Hong Kong action movies, and works best if shown one daily. Efficiency drops by 50% after 24 hours without exposure to some. (Interestingly, Big Trouble in Little China fits the bill as well.) It also drops immediately, until another Hong Kong action movie is shown, if the ship is shown The Musketeer or either Kill Bill movie.

Known Crew Quirks

  • The "immense disembodied intelligence" that is linked, in part, to Geoff Depew (he’s got theories, but no proof) will push him to take actions that do not quite make sense immediately, but eventually push things where he needs them to go (which is not always where he wants them to go).
  • It also sometimes passes information on to other people, causing his eyes to go dead black and his voice to take on an odd echoing quality.

Trivia

  • Geoff has been offered cash amounts in the millions to allow someone access to the Qin’s technology to figure it out, has refused every time.
  • Geoff has been seeking a nickel-iron asteroid to turn into an asteroid habitat for the purposes of setting up a living area and boarding school/college, because there will be another generation of Fen and they’ll need to be educated.
