Grover's Corners Elementary School is a one-room schoolhouse built by the inhabitants of Grover's Corners for the education of their youngest children and young children from other smaller stations in cislunar space. It is known better as PS 238, the nickname given to it by the Supers who assisted in its construction.[1] The school teaches a general curriculum for Grade 1 through Grade 6.

The school building is located on the edge of Our Town closest to Grover's Corners' main airlock.[2] Built from stone quarried from Luna and wood and glass brought up by Grover's Corners when they first launched, the building has one large classroom (with a digital "whiteboard" at the front, supplied by the Banzai Institute for Biomedical Research and Strategic Information), a smaller faculty lounge that doubles as a library, and a communal washroom.

The school's computer system, installed during the construction of the building, is an Awakened AI that goes by the name Principal Cranston, the only obvious reference to PS 238 in the school. He has happily taken care of the school's administrative needs since it opened, acted as a child counsellor when necessary, and has occasionally offered advice to Mister Mayor and the Grover's Corners crew on political matters. Until mid-2014, the school relied on people showing up to teach whatever they knew, with supply teachers brought in to fill in the gaps where necessary. Grover's Corners Elementary hired Yomiko Readman as a full-time teacher in June 2014[3], mere days after she Awakened - she has stabilized the school's curriculum and made sure the library is well-stocked.
  1. Despite the nickname, Grover's Corners Elementary bears little resemblance to the fictional PS 238 - it definitely does not have classrooms buried three miles below the surface, for example.
  2. Gaia insisted on this, so that the disruptions caused by people coming to and going from the school would be minimized.
  3. Ms. Readman's salary is subsidized by the Nikaido Foundation.
