The Commanding Officer of the Survival Shot OpFor, Daryl Haur first launched as to Fenspace with her parents just prior to Alphacon. She naturally gravitated towards the Crystal Millennium and the Justice subfaction of the Sailor Armed Militia. After graduating, for three years she worked as an OF-5 grade Troubleshooter alongside her partner, Ranko Mill, hunting broadleaf smugglers in the crystal cities and beyond. She was awarded the Usagi medal for her efforts.

In 2020, Ranko Mill was murdered by programmed catgirl assassin, who was 'rescued' from a thionite waystation.

Soon after, Daryl resigned her troubleshooter position and took up work at Jet Jaguar's Survival Shot training centre, using her experience in the SSAM and as a troubleshooter to coordinate the exercises held, and command the opposing force.

Daryl believes in Fenspace independence, love and justice with an extra portion of the justice and enjoys Asteroid Racing. She competed in Zig spec-races between 2019 and 2020, and put together her own Aeritalia F-104S AS/M -based racer, Silver Arrow, competing as a wild card in a few races before selling it on to another competitor to fund the RF-047.

Daryl remains on the reserve list of the SSAM, and has been quietly maneuvering to push Frigga closer to the Crystal Millenium's sphere of influence. Her first step along the road was to persuade Jet to take the oath of Venus, for the sake of team unity. [1] . She would be surprised to be named Sailor Frigga. [2]

Knight Sabers

Daryl is the Blue Saber.

Daryl was approached by Jet Jaguar in the guise of Sylia Stingray soon after she resigned from Great Justice. At first, Daryl thought what Jet was planning to do was just a little bit ridiculous, but figured it was her best shot at getting revenge for Ranko's death[3]. Daryl began settle in to her role, and now plans to remain with the team for the foreseeable future. It is fun.

Daryl is the most 'tankable' of the Knight Sabers, and is capable of dealing out a lot of punishment, and absorbing the same. She's not as agile or fast as Sylia or Kotono and doesn't share Anika's Information skills, but she makes up for it with her extra armaments and an aggressive fighting style. Her troubleshooter experience also stands to her when it's time for intelligence legwork.

Asagiri

Named for Priss Asagiri. Typical of any one of dozens of garagistes and hobby design bureaus scattered around Fenspace, Asagiri is the brand-name used by Jet Jaguar, Daryl Haur and Mackie Jaguar[4] for the RF-047 Kulbit homologation special. The name was retroactively applied to any spacecraft designed on Frigga. It is something of a hobby business, and really just an excuse to go really fast, make a lot of noise, and hopefully come somewhat close to covering the costs of doing so.[5]

Asagiri is best known the RF-047 Kulbit 'Fighter'[6], Havoc and Hokum choppers, the Judy-type motoroid and the JF-21. They also hire-out out XR-71 Exxor - a test mule made from an old type-2A Blackbird Class spaceframe (Serial No. 013-0024) with the rear structure modified to accept an additional drive. It's available to any small builder looking for an engine test-bed on the cheap. Most Asagiri craft are built through the Hephaestus Affiliate Program.

Asagiri quickly earned a reputation for tight budgets, tighter flight-suits and surprising performance when the RF-047 won the first three races of the season, before going on to take the 2024 Warbirds Pilot's championship. Asagiri designs tend to be very min-maxed, with emphasis placed on meeting one specific performance metric over all others; either sheer speed, maneuverability, or on-track performance. Their strategy has been to move away from early attempts at breaking through with military designs, to a civilianised 'sports/performance' brand identity.

Like most of the small groups, they aim to build something different for each and every Convention, in the hopes of something catching some spark of attention and a big-number order. Thus far, this hasn't happened. Most annual sales remain at the single-digit level. Exxor, the Judy-series, licensing of the fusion-turboshaft technology, and the occasional dribble of sponsor money from the racing effort keep things from being too far into the red.

Mundane Attributes

Do you know the old Klingon proverb?: Prone to bearing a grudge. Prior to August 2023, Actively seeking revenge against those who murdered her partner, and will often follow up leads on her own. She's still a Senshi at heart.

Boom, headshoot!: Former Crystal Tokyo City Guard. Range safety officer and squad tactical instructor for Survival Shot.

Speed Queen: Asteroid Racer. Competed in the Zig-fighter and Aerospace-derivative classes as a privateer. Competed in the professional Warbirds class in 2024, using the RF-047 Kulbit.

Priss who?: Is somewhat alike Priss Asagiri of Bubblegum Crisis in mood and mannerisms, except she's almost tuneless, and shouldn't be allowed to even attempt singing.[7]

Quirks

I file it under S, for Stuff: Daryl's quarters on Frigga are forever in a mess. She's notoriously disorganised in her personal life.

Appearance

Blond hair, green eyes, a little on the short side but not too much. Otherwise pretty average, and hard to set apart.

Notes

  1. That, and the party that followed.
  2. Considering she's done nothing to publicly garner the award
  3. Great Justice not allowing Troubleshooters to work up such personal cases for obvious reasons
  4. Prior to the Griffon Incident
  5. The best way to make a million through aerosport being to start with ten million, according to an old joke
  6. One of three Su-47 replica-types recognised by Great Justice
  7. Which is why Jet hired her.
