Originally part of the same society which waved the spaceship Ciara, Jet left to pursue his own project, shortly before they launched. Working in the garden shed, he sought to build a spaceworthy hardsuit, in the style of the Knight Sabers. Not having access to the right materials, Jet cast the original armour on top of a mechanical framework out of heavily imprinted handwavium. Jet managed to build two prototypes using this technique, the first being functional, but heavily quirked to accept only a female wearer, and the second being a complete mess. Jet stored the first, and junked the second, also storing his remaining handwavium in old empty beer bottles while he figured out what to do with it. Naturally, a few months later, he'd forgotten exactly which bottles he'd used.

The resulting biomod was a complex interplay of human and machine. The ‘wavium had been imprinted to create a Knight Saber flying machine and that’s exactly what it did with Jet’s body. It altered it to fit and fuse with the original handwaved suit, created something that looked like a cross between all four Knight Sabers combined.

Taking the name Jet Jaguar first as a radio callsign, he taught himself to fly properly over the next few months, supporting himself with revenue from videos of flights through his hometown and further afield. He was forced to change his preferred pronoun usage by 'fans' who insisted ‘his’ adoption of the description ‘gynoid’ was some form of statement.

Eventually, she was forced to escape to orbit in early 2012 when the authorities finally cracked down on her flights, settling for a short while on Genaros where she worked maintaining the sprinkler systems.

Shortly after Operation Great Justice had begun Jet learned of the Panzer Kunst Gruppe from AC Peters, who was fitting her with a new set of engines. Jet originally only joined in order to learn how to properly control her own body, however she remained with the Gruppe after finding a self affirming peace in her training, making Geselle and getting her blades in January 2013. The attributes which made her an excellent flier, also made her a competent fighter. Jet spent the first part of the war running ultra secret communiques between OGJ forces, mixed with a few intelligence ops. During this time she met Ford Sierra, pulling her from the battered wreckage of her car after a Boskonian attack.

After the battle SerenityCon, and being caught in the middle of the Kentucky Cat incident, Jet took over the leadership of the Engel Gruppe. For her first mission as Krieger. she led the Engels supporting an assault by Tango Shoes on Jusenkyou. This was followed by a number of other operations in the run up to the fall of Boskone Prime. Jet led the mission that recovered the Destiny Nova and took part in the raid to rescue the Professor and disable the base's defences just prior to the final assault on Boskone Prime.

With the war over, Jet remained with Great Justice as a troubleshooter. As of the end of 2014, she usually splits her time between her OGJ work, training Anfanger intending to join the Engel Gruppe in advanced flight techniques and spending as much free time as possible with Ford Sierra.

Mundane Attributes

Active Heart: Jet loves being out and about, preferring field operations and being active to a desk job.

Neither confirmed, nor denied: It's never been publicly confirmed that Jet is a troubleshooter, or what her grade is. Jet works hard to keep her role as a troubleshooter quiet.

The Golden Rule: Jet refuses to build or purchase any hardware with a sapient AI, including spacecraft.

Armoured artist: As a member of the Panzer Kunst Gruppe, Jet has extensive training and experience with the cyborg martial art 'Panzer Kunst' and is capable of training others.

Brilliant, but Lazy: Had things worked out differently, Jet might have become an accomplished gearhead. The lure of open skies is a powerful distraction, however Jet still shows occasional flashes of her technical nous, notably developing the Stingray hardsuit, and the Highway Star record breaker. It's never anything more than a hobby.

Keeping my Feet on the ground: Her partner Ford Sierra keeps her grounded in reality and humanity.

Whispers from the Dark: Feelings of hate and anger towards Zwilniks still linger deep from the Boskone war. Jet does her best not to act on them, but she can still slip from time to time, especially if someone knows how to push her buttons.

Handwavium Abilities

I am my Ride: Jet is her own spacecraft, equipped with a speed-drive on her back and one in each of her feet. She has full navigation, radar, life support, radio and cellular links integrated into her body and won’t suffocate if she removes her helmet in space. Her armour is designed to be resistant to orbital debris and so is naturally bullet resistant. As it was originally designed to be a powered suit it’s fitted with strength boosting actuators, allowing Jet to upend a decent-sized family car.

Ave Machina(a): The hardsuit's original onboard computer was based around a waved Apple iPhone. This was fused with Jets brain, giving Jet mental access to most of the phone's onboard programs. Jet has plug and play hardware capability through a pair of ear mounted USB ports. Hardware integration also boosts Jet's kinesthetics, perception and reactions above human capability. It does not boost Jet's overall intelligence.

Live to Fly: The handwavium was imprinted to make a flying machine, and that’s just what it made Jet’s body. Her body is adapted for high speed, high impact aerial work. Her skeleton is reinforced and braced, and her body chemistry altered to enable her to sustain much higher G-forces and harder impacts than a normal human....to a point.

All this and Saber Stew: Jet has inherited a number of characteristics from all four Knight Sabers. Most of these are physical, such as her appearance, or having Priss' distinctive singing voice. Some may be mental, but Jet herself isn't certain.

Quirks

Bubblegum Wave: Jet's rare attempts to use handwavium always have a strong Bubblegum Crisis 1980's retrofuturistic or Knight Saber flavour to them. It helps when trying to replicate Stingray tech, it just gets in the way with everything else.

Fly to Live: Jets armour and her biology are fully integrated with each other. This causes her any number of problems. Some are just annoying, like when her she forgets to retract her wings before going through a narrow doorway or touch screens not working, others can be far more personal and heartbreaking.

Ave Machina(b) : Cybernetics require regular maintenance, preferably from someone she trusts. Ignoring this increases the risk of a malfunction ranging from the irritating, to potentially deadly. This ranges from a small dose of handwavium daily mixed with food or drink, to a full workbench overhaul and refit every six months.

A Caged Bird: Jet gets restless when aboard spacecraft. The smaller the craft, the more uneasy and restless she’ll be. Jet will try to fly to her destination under her own power, unless it's otherwise inappropriate. It even triggers aboard large stations such as Grovers Corners.

Crunchy: Jet is not fully mechanical, she’s still mostly biological inside her armour. Anything strong enough to penetrate her armour is more than capable of doing her a serious injury.

Oops... sorry: Jet's actuators are a constant power type, rather than the safer and more common constant force types. She used to have trouble with breaking things, not being used to her own strength. While she's mostly 'bought off' this disadvantage through training and experience, it still shows up from time to time, when Jet's frustrated, distracted, annoyed or otherwise had her concentration broken.

Jet finally takes up a standing offer of employment from the Roughriders in late 2019. Whether Jet will move her official address to 36 Atalante hasn't been decided yet, she's waiting to see how well this goes before getting too comfortable.

While with the Roughriders, Jet spends her time between combat operations alongside the A-team, scheduling joint operations and training between the Roughriders and the Panzer Kunst Gruppe, and doing occasional work on 37-Fides with Sierra. Jet was responsible for hardsuits worn by the A-Team and for the JF-21 series prototype, which she built when Ben told her she needed a spacecraft of her own for practicality reasons. She hates flying in it... despite it not even having a cockpit canopy. In general, Jet likes getting out and about flying around Fenspace. She finds it annoying when she's forced to stay on Atalante through solar flare, or being stuck on-call.

Jet hopes one day to fly to Starbase 2 under her own power.
